Each year, more than 200 volunteers contribute their time and talents to William Temple House. Volunteers give back to our community and make an immediate difference in the lives of the people our agency serves.Current Opportunities

In most cases, individual volunteers must be at least 15 years old, but there are exceptions for special events, volunteer groups, and younger teens accompanied by a parent/guardian. All volunteers under 18 will be asked to sign a completed parent waiver form. A background check may be required for volunteers 18 years and older.

Food Pantry Client Services
Help clients shop, unload food deliveries, stock shelves, and other tasks to keep the pantry running smoothly.

On-call
Help fill in for shifts as needed on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm, or from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm.
*24 hours notice provided when possible.
Food Pantry Gleaning
Assist our social services staff with weekly pickups of donated food and hygiene items. Must be able to lift 50-75 lbs and climb stairs.

Fridays 11:00 am–1:00 pm
Thrift Store
Individuals and small groups needed to assist with sorting, organizing, and getting donations to the sales floor.
Available Shifts
Thrift Store hours are from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm on Mondays through Saturdays, and from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm on Sundays. Flexible weekday/weekend scheduling is available.
Note: Due to the nature of our store, and donations we receive, volunteers may be exposed to dust or other allergens.
Social Services Front Desk Volunteer
Assist and support our front desk staff person by greeting clients and answering questions, assisting with the client intake process, and bringing client food orders up from the pantry.

Clothing Closet Volunteer (Food Pantry)
Fulfill client clothing orders, organize and sort clothing, keep track of client visits to the closet, and receive and sort clothing donations.
