A note of gratitude from Carrie Kaufman, Director of Development & Marketing.
We couldn’t have done it without you! Style & Sustainability for Social Good, our virtual fundraising luncheon and fashion show on May 21, 2020, was a success because of the combined efforts of many.
The financial commitments of our sponsors provided the infrastructure that allowed us the produce our event in a professional production studio and to have the tools and technology to do a live-streamed event. Thank you!
Diamond Sponsor: Bliss House Museum
Ruby Sponsors: Susan Workman and Singer Properties
Pearl Sponsors: Calbag Metals, Hoag Real Estate, New Seasons Market and Taui Balms LLC
Special Thanks
Thank you to Kelly Raynor, our guest speaker, who shared her convictions about sustainable versus fast fashion and inspired us to shop secondhand first. In addition to serving as executive director of Modify Style, a Portland nonprofit dedicated to minimizing the massive ecological footprint of the fashion industry, Kelly lives her convictions as the owner of Recurrent, a boutique retail store in Tillamook. We are grateful for her informative presentation and for connecting us with talented local fashion designers who created amazing garments for our thrift style fashion show.
To our fabulous four designers who re-fashioned garments from the William Temple House Thrift Store into new creations—Patty Armstrong, Amy Daileda of Vivid Element, Sundari of Minnie Opal, and Irene Veldstra—we send our thanks. What fun it was to see your boundless creativity! We have included a slideshow of the thrift store garments used in their designs below.
Thanks to our dedicated committee and all our supporters who helped us spread the word by personally inviting their circle of friends.
And finally, but not lastly, we thank the 225 wonderful donors that helped us raise over $96,000 to date that will directly support our healthy model food pantry and affordable mental health counseling services.
What a wonderful community we have!
